Rep. Ed Royce endorses Young Kim for Congress

FULLERTON, CA – – United States Representative Ed Royce announced this evening that he is endorsing businesswoman and former State Assembly Representative Young Kim to succeed him in the 39th congressional district of California.  In making his announcement, Royce said:

“We have an opportunity to elect an outstanding community leader to Congress – Young Kim.

“I can attest to Young’s dedication and abilities because she worked for me for almost 20 years, serving as a key advisor and community liaison. She knows our district, its people and its needs. She is a tireless and dedicated public servant.

“In Congress, Young will be an effective voice for middle class families and for policies that keep our country secure, grow jobs and increase economic opportunities for the people of our 39th district.”

Ed Royce was elected to Congress in 1992 and has been overwhelmingly reelected every two years since. He currently serves as the Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee.  He is retiring from Congress after his current term, allowing him to devote full time to the Chairman’s duties.

“In this final year of my Foreign Affairs Committee chairmanship, I want to focus fully on the urgent threats facing our nation, including: the brutal, corrupt and dangerous regimes in Pyongyang and Tehran, Vladimir Putin’s continued efforts to weaponize information to fracture western democracies, and growing terrorist threats in Africa and Central Asia,” Royce said.

California’s 39th district encompasses cities in northern Orange County, eastern Los Angeles County, and southwestern San Bernardino County.
