Young Kim Welcomes Congress’ Infusion of Funds into Paycheck Protection Program

Kim has been calling for action for almost two weeks while Congress remained gridlocked

Fullerton, CA – Young Kim, Congressional candidate for California’s 39th District welcomed Congress’ passage of additional funding for the Paycheck Protection Program while noting that businesses have been in crisis for over a week as they have waited for access to PPP loans.

“I am glad to see that Congress has acted to give our businesses some of the additional resources they need to get through these unprecedented times,” said Kim. “Now Congress and the Treasury Department must ensure that the small and minority owned businesses that make up the backbone of the 39th District’s economy are able to access these funds.”

Young Kim continued by admonishing Congress for their unnecessary, weeklong delay in approving additional funding for the Paycheck Protection Program.

“Small businesses and families across the 39th district are suffering from the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak and Congress’ inaction to provide additional funds for the Paycheck Protection Program left them out in the cold,” said Kim. “We cannot forget the lack of leadership and unchecked partisanship that brought us to this point. While the people of this District have stepped up in the face of this pandemic, our Representative, Gil Cisneros, shirked his responsibilities for over a week. The delay in funding was unnecessary and has further revealed the need for a strong voice fighting for the people of the 39th District.”

Young Kim has been in constant contact with local businesses and families desperate for assistance since the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak and has long called for action to expand funding to the Paycheck Protection Program.
